About
In 2016, Empowered to Live (ETL) was founded by President and Chief Executive Officer, Tiffany Green to provide positive youth development programs for youth ages 14 to 24 in the Frederick County area. Empowered to Live was establish as a direct response to the growing number of youths in Frederick County and the increasing number the youth needs highlighted in the Frederick County Human Needs Assessment. Our programs addresses youth needs and encourages youth to enhance their level of resilience, while learning how to navigate through the demands and challenges of everyday life.
ETL believes in creating a supportive environment that allows youth to thrive by making family support groups more accessible to families in Frederick. Support groups allow family members the opportunity to play an active role as a caring adult in the lives of the youth we serve. According to the Human Needs Assessment, the need for caring adults (mentors) and out-of-school programs is greater than the capacity of all Frederick providers. As a community organization, we aim to foster meaningful relationships with organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sector and form partnerships that will develop more effective programs and services to meet the needs of our youth and families.
Overtime, Empowered to Live plans to create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource youth, families, community stakeholders, government officials, and the community at large will be able to partake in yearly.
We believe all youth, can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world!
We believe all youth and families should have access to resources, services, and opportunities that will position them for success!
